Lavendula
Lavandula, commonly known as lavender, is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the family Lamiaceae. Lavender plants are native to the Mediterranean region and are now grown in many other parts of the world as ornamental plants, for culinary uses, and in the production of essential oils.
Lavender plants have woody stems that can reach up to three feet in height. The flowers are typically blue, purple, or pink, and are arranged in spikes. The foliage of lavender plants is often gray-green and can be quite fragrant, with needle-like leaves.
