Papaver
Papaver is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the family Papaveraceae. They are commonly known as "poppies" and are prized for their colorful, delicate flowers and attractive foliage. Papaver plants are native to Asia, Europe, and North America, and are now grown in many other parts of the world as ornamental plants.
Papaver plants have upright or sprawling stems that can reach up to three feet in height. The flowers are typically red, pink, orange, or white, and have four to six petals that give them a delicate, papery appearance. The foliage of Papaver plants is often green and can be quite ornamental, with lobed or dissected leaves.
