Calamagrostis

Calamagrostis is a genus of grasses in the Poaceae family, which is native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. They are commonly grown as ornamental plants in gardens and landscapes for their attractive foliage and feathery flower heads. Calamagrostis are also known by the common name reed grass.

Calamagrostis have a clump-forming growth habit and produce narrow, arching leaves that are typically green or blue-green in color. In the summer, they produce feathery, upright flower heads that can be brown, purple or pink in color. The flowers can be used for cut arrangements, and also attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
