Allium
Allium is a genus of herbaceous perennials that belongs to the onion family (Alliaceae). They are native to Asia, Europe, and North America, and are widely cultivated as ornamental plants for their large, round flower heads and distinctive onion scent. Alliums are commonly grown in garden borders, rock gardens, and as cut flowers.
Alliums have a bulbous growth habit and produce long, upright stems that are topped with large, round flower heads that are composed of many small, star-shaped flowers. The flower heads can range in size from small, golf-ball-sized clusters to large, softball-sized globes. Alliums are available in a wide range of colors, including pink, purple, white, and yellow.
