Miscanthus
Miscanthus is a genus of ornamental grasses that belongs to the family Poaceae. They are commonly known as "maiden grass" or "eulalia grass" and are prized for their elegant foliage and feathery plumes. Miscanthus plants are native to Asia and are now grown in many other parts of the world as ornamental plants and as a source of biofuel.
Miscanthus plants have upright stems that can reach up to 10 feet in height. The foliage is typically green, but can also be variegated or bronze, and can be quite ornamental, with narrow, arching leaves. In late summer or early fall, Miscanthus plants produce tall, feathery plumes that can be up to two feet in length.
