Cortaderia
Cortaderia is a genus of flowering plants in the grass family, native to South America and New Zealand. The most well-known species is Cortaderia selloana, commonly known as pampas grass, which is a popular ornamental plant grown for its large plumes of fluffy, white or pinkish flowers.
Cortaderia plants are easy to grow and require full sun and well-drained soil. They can grow up to 10 feet tall and spread out to form large clumps, making them ideal for use as screens or hedges. However, they can also become invasive in some areas, so it is important to check local regulations before planting. Cortaderia plants are also drought-tolerant and relatively low-maintenance, making them a popular choice for xeriscaping and landscaping in dry climates.
